Yokohama is the first Japanese rubber producer to get the ISO9001 standard, and is known to put in all efforts to improve their technique and details in each product to deliver the very best. Yokohama’s certificated products are all-season tires, all-terrain tires, and specialized tires for every season. Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 is an all-season highway terrain tire best suited for CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks.
Features and Benefits
Most drivers want to know how a tire performs in different conditions is a must for, so let’s dive in.
A highway tire, the Geolandar H/T G056 can be used year-round and features Yokohama’s Orange Oil Technology and Micro Silica that enhances wet traction. In addition, the zigzag-shaped nylon enduro core construction grooves appear symmetrically on both sides to offer support while cornering in wet weather conditions.
Pickup trucks and SUVs are larger vehicles, and their tires need to be able to handle this higher weight. Fortunately, the Geolandar H/T G056 features a reinforced internal structure that’s made up of spirally-wrapped nylon-strengthened twin steel belts and two polyester casing plies that improve the tire’s strength and help maintain optimal shape when driving under heavy loads to prevent uneven wear. Additionally, an Enduro Core construction further enhances strength and durability so that drivers can confidently haul and tow whatever is needed.
Ride comfort is also important, and Yokohama tackled that problem by giving the Geolandar H/T G056 adaptive shoulder blocks which lower road noises and vibrations.
Finally,Yokohama offers a 50 to 70,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty on the Geolandar H/T G056 and a 30-Day trial satisfaction guarantee. Drivers of crossovers and SUVs will receive a 70,000 mile warranty, while drivers of light trucks receive a 50,000 mile warranty.
Pros and Cons
Before moving ahead with the decision to buy Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056, let’s first drill down a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.
- The tire offers impressive grip and traction on dry and wet roads thanks to its optimized tread pattern.
- Peace of mind as it comes with a manufacturer warranty of up to 75,000 miles.
- Optimized to offer drivers a noise free ride.
- Reinforced construction with extra steel, nylon, and Yokohama’s Enduro Core technology promotes confident hauling and towing.
While Yokohama makes a good claim about Geolandar H/T G056’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.
- Some sizes are pricier than their peers
- As a highway tire, the Geolandar H/T G056 is not ideal for moderate to heavy off-road driving that might be common when visiting job sites.
- Not the best option for icy conditions

Very pleased with these tires so far , going to put 3000 miles on them shortly NE to S.W. Fl and back hauling a trailer and mini excavator back that will a real test but I'm sure they will preform well .
I have only had these tires for a short time, no chance to rate them for winter traction or treadwear. They are quiet on the road and seem to have good traction. One great factor is their wear warranty. I drive diesel pickups and haul heavy trailers, so tires usually last less than 50% of the wear warranty. They are good about it, give me half my money back towards a new set every time!
Installed on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic, 265/70r15...Unbelievable difference in ride, handling and noise from the same size Cooper Discoverers that I replaced. Very happy with the Yokohama tires...... Also I live in Florida so my winter traction rating is the same as dry and wet handling..
Tires are fine so far, but almost new. Good traction on pavement and quiet.
Best and only way to buy tired, bar none!!!!
I run my Yokohama tires 99% on dry pavement. They are a nice smooth rolling tire. They are quiet with a good looking tread design. To date they are wearing good. I haven't had them on the ground very long though. I would buy them again.
