Radar Tires was launched in 2006 by a Singapore-based manufacturer, Omni United. It is known to deploy the latest materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes to produce a wide range of highly durable tires. These tires have been designed for multiple applications and support round-the-year usage. Gaining immense popularity as it uses rigorous testing methods and modern manufacturing methods, Radar rolls out durable tires for CUVs, SUVs, and commercial and light trucks. The extensive product lineup of this brand includes different types of tires, including all-season, all-terrain, mud-terrain, rugged terrain, summer, highway, UHP, and performance.

Designed for use on classic and vintage cars, the Radar Dimax Classic is a good all-season tire for improved performance in dry, wet, and light snow. It offers a long tread life and ensures shorter stopping distances while appealing to owners with its classic style. The all-season tread of the Dimax Classic features a special rubber compound that promotes increased durability and a longer service life. The vintage look and retro white or black sidewalls of the tire complement the appearance of many classic cars. It is backed by Radar's Protect Program, which includes a Workmanship and Material and Road Hazard Warranty.

So, is it worth going for? Let's try to answer in this Radar Dimax Classic review.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are designed for use in dry, wet, and light wintry conditions and enhance performance with better traction, handling, acceleration, and durability. Let’s have a look at its features and benefits for a better understanding:

    • Great traction: The Radar Dimax Classic features a special rubber compound and asymmetric tread design that ensure superior grip on both dry and wet roads. The zigzag circumferential grooves on its tread effectively disperse water, which reduces the risk of hydroplaning and enhances wet performance.
    • Adequate handling: The Dimax Classic significantly enhances steering responsiveness and stability with its ribbed tread pattern and stable shoulder design. The quick response of the tire and accuracy during cornering enhance its maneuverability. The friction generated by the sipe and groove pattern also shortens braking distances, improving overall safety.
    • Long durability: The unique design of the tire ensures even wear, which promotes a longer tread life. Its stable shoulder ribs and three center ribs distribute the driving pressure evenly across the tread area, thus preventing irregular wear.

    Pros and Cons

While the Dimax Classic offers several benefits, it also has some drawbacks. Let’s glance over its pros and cons before we sum up this Radar Dimax Classic tire review.

    PROS:

    • Enhanced traction and grip in wet and dry
    • Resistance to hydroplaning, thanks to its zigzag circumferential grooves

    • Comfortable and quiet ride enhances the overall experience during drives

    CONS:

I use these on old VWs and Volvo that aren't driven often. If you squint they look like old Michelein X. A great look for old cars. Sure beat the price of L***s and Co***r.
