While relatively new, the brand has established itself as a core player by utilizing the latest equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes to offer affordable, reliable, and optimized-for-performance tires. Radar offers a range of tires in several categories such as all-season, all-terrain, performance, winter, ultra-high-performance, etc.

The Radar Dimax AS-8 is a premium all-season touring designed for use on high-performance cars, CUVs, and SUVs. In this Radar Dimax AS-8 tire review, we will take a look at some of the features and benefits of the tire, its pros and cons, and SImpleTire’s views on the tire.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are designed to be used year-round in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. These tires are optimized for performance, durability, and a quiet comfortable ride and are preferred by the majority of drivers because of their versatile use.

As an all-season touring tire, the Dimax AS-8 is designed for use on premium vehicles and can deliver good performance, even when driving at higher speeds. The tire features an asymmetrical tread pattern along with an optimized profile, making it a reliable and attractive choice, when paired with its competitive pricing. Here are some noteworthy features and benefits of Radar Dimax AS-8.

    • All-season traction: The large number of lateral sipes offer outstanding mechanical traction year-round
    • Even tread wear: Optimized silica tread compound with asymmetric broached tread pattern ensures good traction and even tread wear.
    • Carbon neutral: All Radar tires have been manufactured to be carbon neutral since 2013.
    • Radar’s Protection Program: Backed by Radar’s Protection Program which includes a Workmanship and Material Warranty, Limited tread life warranty, and Road Hazard Warranty.

The Radar Dimax AS-8 is available in a variety of tire sizes ranging from 16 to 26 inches, and is backed by a 50,000 or 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty depending on the tire size.

    Pros and Cons

Now that we know more about the features and benefits of Radar Dimax AS-8, let’s also take a look at some of the pros and cons of the tire.

    • Excellent all-season performance with increased wet traction.
    • Designed for longer tread life and resistant to uneven tread wear.
    • Backed by Radar’s Protection Program and a limited manufacturer tread life warranty.
    • Carbon neutral compound.

Also, consider these cons before making a decision.

    • Cannot be used in medium to heavy winter weather conditions.
    • Ride comfort could be better.

SimpleTire’s view on Radar Dimax AS-8 tires

If you are looking for an affordable set of all-season tires with high-performance capabilities for your performance and premium vehicle, then the Radar Dimax AS-8 might be the right choice for you. Its all-season tread, paired with an asymmetrical tread pattern that resists uneven tread wear, and increased wet and dry grip, makes the Dimax AS-8 a good choice. Additionally, the up to 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty with Radar’s Protection Program, makes the deal even more attractive.

Also, consider Yokohama Geolandar X-CV, if you want better longevity (7.4 v 7.1), slightly better traction (8.2 v 8.1), and better brand recognition. However, the Dimax AS-8 is considerably lower priced and offers better handling (8.3 v 7.9).

Vehicles the Radar Dimax AS-8 is a good replacement tire for

As Radar Dimax AS-8 is available in a variety of tire sizes, it can be used as a good replacement tire for vehicles such as 2018 Dodge Charger, 2015 Chevrolet Impala, 2018 Jeep Compass, and more.

Just purchased my second set of 4 for 400$ even. Walmart.com seems to have the cheapest price for these. Although, my first set I purchased in 2020 for 250$. Still worth 400, I have 40,000 + on them, I could probably run them another 5k if I was desperate, but I'm not. They performed well through the winter, as good as you would expect a front wheel drive car to preform. After about, 30k wear on them, slight hydroplaning is noticeable, but would be with any tire that has worn. 100% good buy.

Very pleased with these tires so far after 5,000 miles. For the price I have no complaints. Not bad in the snow or wet roads and hardly any noise or cornering issues. If I get 35,000 out of these I will be satisfied considering I paid less than $90 per tire.

Have had the tires for about 2 months. The first time on the highway I noticed how quiet they were. Since then we have had snow twice. Traction is as good as can be expected in North Dakota/Minnesota where the first snow of the year can stick round till April. Can't say anything about tread wear after only 2000 miles. So far, so good.

I just got them mounted today. They seem like a decent quality. They have stiff side walls and generous tread. I can't really say anything else about them because I've only put about 30 miles on them.

These tires came with my 2016 Chevy Silverado when I bought it used . I went with another tire due to a good deal when the original set wore out. I almost couldn't wait to get these back on my truck. Awesome In rain and snow and overall traction. 285/45zR22.

First of all I waited this long time to give an accurate review on this tires. Its been 10 months since I bought the tires and so far they still have lots of tread life to go. I do drive 62 miles to work one way each time, and so far I haven't noticed much treadwear on the tires. The tires itself are pretty good (quality wise) and pretty good on the price as well. The only down side is winter time, we did have lots of snow here in Hammond Indiana. Which I was able to test them and to be honest they didn't did great. For dry and wet conditions this tires are awesome no problem one so ever. Overall the tires are good quality. Thanks for you time reading this.
