Got these in November 2019 to replace the OEM Kumhos that had come on my 2016 Kia Optima. Really great tire for winter driving in Wisconsin. Highly recommend!

Nokian is a Finnish-based tire maker that’s known for their innovation and attention to quality. Considering how snowy Finland is, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Nokian specializes in winter tires and all-weather tires that are designed to excel in winter conditions. SimpleTire’s view on Nokian WR G4 tires
All-weather tires are a fairly new category, and that’s where the Nokian WR G4 lands. So what’s the difference between all-weather and all-season?
All-weather tires are designed to be able to handle anything, from dry desert asphalt to heavy snow and slush and anything in between. All-weather tires might not do as well as dedicated winter tires in deep snow, but they’ll do their best and will outperform all-season tires when the winter weather hits. The WR G4 checks all these boxes, with outstanding performance year-round, a surprisingly quiet ride and handling that rivals the best performance-oriented all-season tires. This is a tire that we just can’t recommend strongly enough, and we set the bar pretty high for that kind of thing. Nokian is a company that isn’t afraid to break with tradition and put some real innovation and forward-thinking design into their products, and the WR G4 is proof.
Vehicles the Nokian WR G4 is a good replacement tire for
The WR G4 is a passenger tire that’s meant for coupes, sedans, and minivans. If you’re in the market for a tire that offers better year-round performance than an all-season tire and drive a Chevrolet Malibu, Chrysler Pacifica, Ford Fusion, Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Carnival, Mazda3, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, or Volkswagen Jetta, then this is a tire that you might want to consider.

I bought these based on reviews proclaiming it the best snow tire ever. These have to be the worst tire ive ever had on a vehicle. They struggle to maintain traction on the slightest incline and i have zero confidence on the interstate during snowy weather. Dry roads seem to make these tires hum terrible, the are so loud im considering eating the cost to buy a whole new set of tires from a different brand of course.
Installed on a 2015 Honda Odyssey. Tires were great in the snow when new, but after 3 months they started making noise and I rotate the tires every oil change. After one year or following winter, tire wear was more than expected to the point that the snowflake on the tread is almost gone. Could not get up an untreated hill with less than one inch of snow, maybe too icy for the tires, but I expected more. I am going to buy dedicated snow tires for the winter (most likely Nokians) and all seasons for the summer.
We've had these tires on for a little over a month and I can honestly say I am super impressed. These perform exceptionally well on wet and dry road conditions. I'm excited for winter to roll around to see how well they perform then. Also, the road noise on these tires is very very minimal. Definitely one of the best "bang for your buck" contenders. One last thing, the shipping was very fast for an entire set of tires. I was very impressed.
Love the Nokian tires I have had these tires in the past and I swear by them as they will out preform many winter tires in snow and ice and are a all season tire that will get you 100,000kms before needing to get new tires great tires if you live in northern states or in Canada
I love these tires. Don't care that they are winter tires they ride smooth and grip is amazing. Consumer reports doesn't rate them as high as they should be and I'm happy I looked at reviews from happy customers. I will never put any other tire on my 2012 plug in Prius.
Had these tires installed at the dealer before picking up my 2020 Subaru Outback Touring XT in December 2019. Due to Covid could not get them removed in the spring of 2020 so they are still on my car in March 2021. This year was one of the worst winters with snow and ice for over 2 months in upstate NY. Under the worst conditions with ice in 2 spots on my private road which is not plowed I had almost no steering and yet these tires on my Subaru got me through. Never lost traction in the 5 inches of snow going uphill and down. The only tires In over 40 years of driving that work in all conditions use to have the WG3 and they were great but these are even better.
25,000 mile update: Still excellent tires. Have had no issues with them. Wearing evenly. Tracking straight and balanced. Only change from original review is the treadwear is less than hoped for. At this point they are below half depth, and will not be making it to next winter. They managed to get through 2 winters (1 full season plus 3 months), but there is not enough tread left to risk any further snow or ice. Luckily it was a mild winter here in Southern Oregon. Even though below half tread depth, they did manage to get through the few inches of snow that had fallen for a few days, though reluctantly.
Totally impressed with these tires. Consumer reports had them rated about average. The customer reviews on these tires were excellent. I took a chance and I'm glad I did because they blow the Yokohama's away.
