Kumho Tires, one of the world's major tire manufacturers, has a more than 60-year history steeped in a creative approach to product creation, market expansion, technological advancement, and environmental consciousness. They are experts in creating commercial tires, performance tires, summer tires, winter tires, all-terrain tires, and more.
Drivers favor all-season tires because they provide year-round performance. Kumho manufactures a variety of all-season tires for passenger vehicles, SUVs, CUVs, and light trucks. The Kumho Solus TA11 is one of those tires which is designed for use on sedans.
These tires provide outstanding stability and grip. For drivers who value comfort and long tread life over peak performance, the Kumho Solus TA11 is primarily intended.
Nevertheless, is it the best tire for your sedan and your budget? Let's take a look at a review of Kumho Solus TA11 to see if it's the right tire for you.
Features and Benefits
You might choose the Kumho Solus TA11 if you want an excellent all-season tire that can deliver performance, good comfort, year-round traction, fuel efficiency, and a longer tread life. You can make a decision on whether to purchase these tires by becoming familiar with the features and benefits of Kumho Solus TA11.
- Great all-season traction: Special silica compound for wet performance. The additional siping detail in the tread pattern and the double silicone compound improve traction on all types of roads. The all-season composition, high siping density, and symmetrical ribbed design give traction in dry, rainy, and cold conditions. While the ribbed tread sections maintain the tire in contact with the road for improved all-season performance, the Solus TA11's narrow waffle-shaped gripping edge gives enhanced traction on ice. Tread compound keeps the rubber pliable in all temperatures, allowing the tire to retain a consistent grip on the road.
- Reduced risk of hydroplaning: By removing water from beneath the tire footprint, the four deep circumferential grooves reduce hydroplaning. Reduced hydroplaning enhances wet traction.
- High levels of steering response: A tire's constant touch with the road is ensured by its symmetrical ribbed tread pattern, which closely mirrors the road's surface. The continuous center ribs of the tread design increase road contact and improve steering and driving stability.
- Better fuel efficiency: By reducing rolling resistance, the dual silicone compound also reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. A continual sporting performance is thus provided.
- Longer tread life: The compound is designed to cool the tire following heat accumulation, which considerably reduces the rate of tread degradation.
- Comfortable Drive: To reduce road vibrations, the ESCOT Technology optimizes the form, sidewall stiffness, and road contact of the tire. Moreover, the Kumho Solus TA11’s optimized tread pattern and ESCOT casing dampen road noise and absorb shocks to provide drivers and passengers with a quiet, comfortable ride.
Pros and Cons
So, is it suitable for your sedan? Let's first weigh its pros and cons before coming to a conclusion:
- All-season tread pattern to enhance dry, wet, and light winter weather traction.
- Backed by a 75,000 mile manufacturer tread life warranty.
- Narrow waffle-shaped gripping edge to boost traction on ice.
- To lessen the chance of hydroplaning, four deep circumferential grooves drain water and slush from the tread.
- Dual silicon compound to enhance the fuel efficiency by reducing rolling resistance.
- ESCOT casing to dampen road noise and to offer a quiet drive.
- Built-in rim protector guards the tire and wheel against curbing and other damage.
Despite having all of these advantages and features, there are certain areas where the Kumho Solus TA11 tire might be improved, including:
- Not the best in moderate to heavy ice, slush, and snow
- Should not be used off-road.
- Handling could be better.
SimpleTire’s view on Kumho Solus TA11 tires
A passenger tire like Solus TA11 is meant to provide the improved handling, grip, and extended tread life that’s required for today's sedans while also offering a quiet and comfortable ride in all situations thanks to its cutting-edge tread design. In comparison to the Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) and Yokohama Avid Touring-S, the Kumho Solus TA11 offers a better mileage warranty of 75,000 miles compared to 70,000 and 65,000 miles, respectively.
Although the Yokohama Avid Touring-S is more affordable and has a better tread life, the Kumho Solus TA11 has better traction and a longer warranty. On the flip side, Hankook Kinergy ST(H735) is equally priced and has the same performance but a shorter warranty.
Due to its excellent traction, tread life, and greater handling, the Kumho Solus TA11 is a great all-season tire.

The day my tires were delivered, I was involved in an accident that totaled my car. I never got the chance to install them so they were perfectly untouched. I was able to return them free of charge and my account was untouched.
I like it very much.
This is the last tire store I will ever have . Price service and made sure I was happy after they already had my money who does this SimpleTire thats who fo your self a favor visit SimpleTire
Have not tried them in winter yet
So far, I am happy with the purchase. I received the tires about a month ago and they have performed well.
Haven't had them long enough for all the conditions but either the tire center didn't balance them correctly or they are the loudest tires I have ever purchased? The threads look great and the tire looks great but the noise is unbearable. I don't feel a lot of wobble but it appears the red dots weren't used as guidelines for balancing with the valve stem. Will have them re-balanced and see what the results are.
These have been great tires. We have all kinds of weather in Utah but these tires seem to handle it all with ease. Very quiet and great ride.
Great tires for the money.nice ride.Quite
