SimpleTire’s view on Firestone Transforce AT tires

    Firestone Transforce AT

There’s plenty of choices out there when it comes to all-terrain tires, some great and some a little less than great. The Firestone Transforce AT is designed for today’s 4WD-equipped light trucks and SUVs, with a tough rubber compound that holds up to punishment on rough roads or in off-road conditions. The extra-deep 16/32” tread depth of the Firestone Transforce AT means enhanced traction in snow, slush, mud, or sand, and its robust internal construction makes for a tire that’s stable at highway speed and is durable in rough terrain (it’s all part of the Firestone CO-CS design package).

No, the Firestone Transforce AT isn’t covered by a tread life warranty – however, Firestone offers coverage against defects in manufacturing and workmanship down to the last 2/32” of tread depth. It’s also worth noting that lots of all-terrain and mud-terrain tires might wear more quickly on pavement (as well as when hauling or towing heavy loads), so that’s not an uncommon complaint from drivers. Still, we feel that when you balance price vs performance, the Transforce AT from Firestone delivers a great value.

Horrible. OEM tires on my truck. Uneven tread wear between tires. Despite perfect alignment, proper inflation, and frequent rotation, some tires wore extremely fast near the outer (whitewall) edge, others more slowly. On the tires that the tread wore quickly, the sidewalls also delaminated, revealing all the white under the black sidewalls. The raised white letters are peeling off. There is a "seam" or "cut" visible all around the circumference of the tires at which they start to peel back. (Never hit curbs - this is a highway vehicle). Firestone says it is a common "mold defect" and is only cosmetic, while the local tire shops and the RAM dealer say they are dangerous and should not be driven. Firestone Warranty says to take it to a Firestone store. The Firestone store says they don't do anything for OEM tires, and I should instead call Corporate Firestone Customer Service. Customer Service says to contact Warranty. They are driving me crazy. I just need to save up some money to get rid of these horrible tires.

These tire have been good. They are not the greatest on wet surfaces but they do the job. I have never had a flat tire with these tires. No tire noise on highway.

These are the factory tires on my 2019 Silverado 2500. The truck is used for plowing and running between job sites. The rears are nearly bald at 20,000 miles. They're fine in dry environments, but it was/is very easy to kick out the rear end with the slightest of throttle. They're almost useless in the snow. Even the lightest snowfall requires me to kick it in four wheel. I'm surprised at how poorly they perform. Most OEM truck tires are poor, but these are just junk.

By far the worst tires ever purchased. They have worn out in only 12,000 miles and are crazy loud going down the highway! So loud customers can't hear me over the phone. Have been a Michelin customer forever and will be buying from now on. These are on a Ford Transit 250.

Great tire, but can not recommend. my only complaint is tread life is not very good, on my dodge 3/4,I was getting roughly 20,000-25,000 miles on two consecutive sets, before I went to a different brand of tire. when I bought my 1 ton these tires came with the truck new, the reason that I'm on this site is to replace them as they have lasted 22,000 miles. For this simple reason I could not recommend the tire unless you don't drive much.

Great prices and great customer service people. Easy transaction and shipping. They stand behind their sales. Twice they sent me tires that were over five years since manufacturing. They gladly took them back and sent me newer tires.

Works very good to great under all conditions, better off pavement than I expected. There is a reason these were oem on ford trucks.
