Original tires on my Hyundai Sante Fe sport. I now have about 38000 miles on them and I need to replace already. First 25000 miles they were quiet but then developed a pulsating howl. I rotated every 5000 miles. The tread has gone down quickly as well. They were never good in snow even new. I definitely will be getting new tires this summer before winter hits. Pretty bad I'll need new tires at 40000 miles on these. I drive casually too. I don't recommend.

This tire is optimized to perform year-round and provides strong traction in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. There are various state-of-the-art technologies that contribute to making this tire a better OE fitment and replacement choice for a wide variety of vehicles.
But, can these technologies really leave an impact when it comes to driving on the highways and is this tire really capable of offering top-notch driving experience year-round? Let’s find out in this Continental CrossContact LX tire review.
Features and Benefits
Standard all-season tires are made to perform year-round and feature tread elements that assure solid performance in dry and wet conditions. They also do provide suitable traction and grip in winter weather. The CrossContact LX also comes with all these qualities. But, it is also optimized for touring and specializes in offering superior comfort levels. To know this tire detail, let’s go over its features and benefits and see how they impact the drive and performance.
- Excellent grip and traction in dry and wet conditions – This tire features the tri-net silica compound that boosts traction in both dry and wet conditions. While driving in snow, this advanced silica compound and innovative siping provide better traction and smooth rides. The innovative tread pattern of this tire is optimized for better braking performance on dry and wet pavement.
- Impressive steering responsiveness and handling – The asymmetric tread design of the CrossContact LX features elements that contribute to maintaining impressive steering responsiveness and seamless handling.
- Superior wet weather performance – The four wide circumferential grooves present on the tread facilitate easy water and slush dispersion, thus reducing the chances of hydroplaning and providing better control, grip, and traction in wet weather conditions. In addition, the jointless cap plies also contribute to improving driving in wet conditions by providing smoother rides and improving vehicle response.
- Quieter and comfortable rides – The CrossContact LX is built using Continental’s patented Acoustic Alterra Technology that remarkably reduces the tread noise and offers quieter and more comfortable rides.
- Better durability and strength – The inner construction of the tire features dual steel belts with a polyester cord body, which provides better durability and increases the tire's strength.
The Continental CrossContact LX is not offered with any limited manufacturer tread life warranty, however, the tire is covered by the standard warranty, which covers defects in the case of materials and workmanship if certain terms and conditions are met. This tire is available in different tire sizes that vary between 16- to 22-inch rims. Some of its popular tire sizes are listed below:

These tires were original equipment on my wife's 2015 Honda CR V LX. They handle fine in all weather but I found them pretty noisy and just replaced them at 29,000 miles. Tread was almost down to the wear bar indicators. My wife drives THE speed limit, probably the easiest person on tire wear you could find. These are good tires but tread life and noise were not great.
Very good tire for the money, I have no complaints
